Celtic handed massive triple injury boost ahead of Rangers clash

Celtic vs Hearts

Celtic are very good to go against Rangers in the first Old Firm derby of the season, as the trio of Dedryck Boyata, Jozo Simunovic and Moussa Dembele has been given the medical all-clear to feature at Ibrox on Saturday.

Having failed to shake off a knee knock he sustained during pre-season, the Belgian centre-back has sat out of action this term until the midweek clash against Dundee.

Boyata impressed in the 67 minutes he spent and manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed he is set to start.

Simunovic missed the 4-0 win over Dundee with a swollen knee, but should be fully fit for Saturday’s encounter.

Celtic have missed their first choice centre-back pairing thus far, and can be rest assured of shutting out Rangers with both Boyata and Simunovic in action.

Dembele also missed out of action during the week despite playing an hour last weekend against Ross County, but is also going to start on Saturday.

Rodgers revealed he chose to let the French striker stay behind and get a number of good sessions as opposed to letting him play against Dundee.

With the trio back, Celtic’s chances of getting victory over Rangers are undoubtedly high.
