Football pundit Glenn Hoddle has revealed that he thinks that Newcastle are playing well at the moment due to the fact that manager Rafa Benitez has managed to change the atmosphere of the changing room.
The Magpies started the season on a poor note after their lost their opening two Premier League matches against Tottenham and Huddersfield and were then eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Nottingham Forest.
However since then, the Tyneside club have won their past three Premier League encounters against West Ham, Swansea and Stoke City which has seen them move up to fourth place on the standings.
Hoddle has revealed that he thinks that Benitez has improved the club due to the atmosphere that he has established within the changing room and said, “I think what’s he’s done, is that he’s got a good dressing room.
“I think there’s been a question mark about the dressing room in there. He’s got a young captain, who is leading by example, but he’s got good pro’s in there now.
“I think they went through a few years where it was a little bit disruptive behind the scenes; that’s very difficult for any manager, if you’ve got that disruption.”
In only his first full season in charge of the Magpies last term, Benitez managed to guide the Magpies to the Championship title. He will be hoping to guide them to a strong finish in the Premier League this season as well.
