Leeds United handed triple injury boost ahead of Ipswich clash

Leeds United suffered their first Championship defeat of the campaign at hands of Millwall at the weekend, but will attempt to immediately return to winning ways when they host Ipswich on Saturday.

The Whites have got tough opponents in their hands, with the visitors just 2 points behind the table-toppers.

Yet, a solid starting XI is all Leeds need to inflict The Blues with their 3rd loss of the season.

Swedish centre-back Pontus Jansson sustained a knock to his hamstring and was unable to complete the game during the closing stages of the Millwall defeat.

However, manager Thomas Christiansen has confirmed that the injury isn’t a serious one, and Jansson will take part in the training sessions in buildup to weekend’s game.

The Spaniard boss also claimed that the centre-back duo of Matthew Pennington and Liam Cooper are nearing full fitness, with the former back in training, while the Scottish man is doing well and could be back at the weekend.

The availabilities of the aforementioned defensive trio will definitely gladden the manager’s heart, as he can be rest assured of having steel fully restored to the rearguard in the coming matches.
