Liverpool receive major boost regarding Coutinho’s long-term future

According to reports, Philippe Coutinho is frustrated at Barcelona and could snub a move to the club in January.

Coutinho was a priority target of the Catalan giants who viewed him as a replacement for Neymar who has linked up with PSG.

The Brazilian international was keen on a move to the Spanish club and submitted a transfer request to Liverpool.

Barcelona went on to have a number of bids rejected by Jurgen Klopp’s team who were insistent that they would not sell. He is now reportedly hurt by the lack of action from Barcelona.

The Spanish giants will be expected to reignite their interest during the January transfer window, though Don Balon have claimed that the player could reject their advances.

The 25-year-old Coutinho did not play for the Reds during their 5-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday due to a lack of fitness.

He is expected to return to action on Wednesday during the Reds’ Champions League group stage match against Sevilla though.
