Promising defender reportedly close to signing a deal with Rangers

One day before the end of the transfer window, Pedro Caixinha, the Glasgow Rangers boss, has decided to sign another player.

Declan John, Cardiff City defender, is about to clinch the contract with the Gers – according to reports.

Daily Records reports that the left back has appeared at the Rangers facilities and that he is ready to pen a deal after completing a medical.

He is projected to be the backup for Lee Wallace in the left back position, and in the future, he should become one of the vital players for the team from Ibrox.

John started his career at  Cardiff City, where he had appeared 42 times for the first team. In the previous two years, he was loaned to Barnsley and Chesterfield, but did not leave a good impression.

The defender is a member of the Welsh international team as well, where he has made two appearances.
