According to reports, Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is exploring the possibility of signing former Manchester City striker Stefan Jovetic.
However whether the Magpies end up completing the signature of the Montenegro international could come down to how many players they manage to sell over the next few days.
With Emmanuel Riviere heading to Metz and Siem de Jong heading to Ajax, Benitez will be hoping that he can raise further funds through the sales of Tim Krul, Grant Hanley and Jack Colback.
It remains to be seen if Jovetic will prefer a return to the Premier League as he has also attracted interest from Sevilla, who he played with on loan last season, as well as AS Roma.
Both clubs also feel that they can comfortable pay his £90,000 a week wages while this could prove to be a stumbling block for the Magpies. Jovetic will likely wait till close to transfer deadline day to decide his future.
