According to reports, Crystal Palace are still hopeful of landing Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho.
Sakho joined the Eagles on loan during January and helped the club avoid relegation from the Premier League last season.
He is reportedly surplus to requirements at Liverpool and the Reds are willing to listen to offers. However they are said to be demanding £25 million for the Frenchman which is pricing Palace out of a possible deal.
The price tag on the 27-year-old has also turned off Southampton. The Saints are said to have also considered the prospect of signing Sakho, though they eventually settled for Wesley Hoedt.
Palace are now set to be eyeing Kevin Wimmer of Tottenham in order to bolster their defence but remain hopeful on Sakho as well.
What is working in Liverpool’s favor in terms of demanding a price is the fact that the player still has three years left on his contract and he will not lose value next summer. They may now end up sending him out on another loan.
