Leeds United boss confirms offer for striker

Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen has confirmed that striker Chris Wood has been offered a new deal to remain at Elland Road.

Wood finished as the Championship top goal scorer last season scoring 27 goals for the Whites as they finished seventh on the standings. He got this season off to a good start when he netted against Bolton during the Whites first match of the season.

However during the following two matches, neither the 25-year-old Wood nor his team-mates managed to find the back of the net as they played out to goalless draws with Preston North End and Fulham.

Nonetheless, his performances from last season have attracted interest from Premier League clubs including Burnley, who have had to bids rejected for him.

Christiansen has now made it clear that it is up to the New Zealand international Wood to decide on his own future. It remains to be seen if Wood will opt to remain at the Yorkshire giants or opt to step up to the Premier League.
