Liverpool risk dropping vital points again this weekend as they are without 3 first-teamers

Liverpool kicked off the new Premier League campaign on a gloomy note, as they were held to a 3-3 draw at Vicarage Road by Watford last Saturday.

The Reds host a tricky visitor in Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon on matchday 2, and manager Jurgen Klopp appears to be left sweating over the fitness of his key players.

Right-back Nathaniel Clyne and midfielder Adam Lallana are still both out, and the trio of Philippe Coutinho, Emre Can and Sadio Mane now look set to miss the game against the Eagles.

The wantaway Brazilian is yet to recover from a back injury, while the German and Senegalese missed training on Thursday.

The duo featured last weekend and against Hoffenheim on Tuesday, so chances are they were scheduled to miss the session. Their availability for weekend’s clash can’t be ascertained yet.

There is good news, though, as striker Danny Sturridge could return to action against Palace having resumed training with the full squad on Wednesday.

Saturday’s game is very crucial for Liverpool considering their recent struggles against the visitors.

The last time both teams met at Anfield, Palace left with all 3 points, scoring 3 unreplied goals.

Liverpool have lost 4 and drawn 1 in the last 8 meetings against the Eagles and will be hoping to kick off their first game at home this season with a much-needed victory.

Klopp needs a very strong XI to have a chance of defeating Frank de Boer’s men, so it is hoped Can and Mane are fit enough to feature.
