Former Saints star believes that rebellious defender will end up in Liverpool

Brett Ormerod, the former Southampton player, has stated that he believes that rebellious dutch Defender Virgil van Dijk is going to end up in Liverpool after all the problems he has caused.

“I think he’s off to Liverpool if I’m honest. A player who is clearly upset and not giving his all for the club can have a detrimental effect on the squad and Southampton are a team that always have a great team spirit and bond.

“At some point, perhaps there is a temptation to cut their losses and take the substantial profit the move will generate.” reportedly Ormerod told to Bwin website.

The former Saints striker had an interview with that media, in which he also had said that club from St Mary’s Stadium, already have decent replacements for unsettled centre-back.

After this statement, the 39-year-old had expressed his belief that Southampton’s youth Academy has enough talented players who could immediately replace van Dijk.

He also spoke about the situation when one unhappy player could ruin all the good things in the locker room and that damage a positive team spirit.

At some point, the team needs to evaluate the potential cost and profit from the current condition and to react in order to do the best thing for the future.
