Tottenham defender Ben Davies is set to reap the rewards for his persistence.
Davies joined the North London club from Swansea in July 2014 and is currently on his longest regular game spell with the club after long spells of serving as cover for Danny Rose.
Rose is not expected to return to action at least until at least the end of the month as he continues to recover from his long-term knee injury which means that Davies will likely start of the new season at left-back.
The Wales international Davies is looking forward to the challenge and said, “It’s going to be an opportunity for me to get some games and it’s all about trying to do well in those games, then we will see what happens.”
Whilst also taking about Kieran Trippier, who will start the season as Spurs first choice right back, the 24-year old Davies explained, “We’re definitely quite similar.
“We’ve been in and out of the team the time we’ve been here but in any club you’re going to have the rotation system with the amount of games you have. But when you get that jersey you’ve got to try to make the best of the opportunity.”
