Tottenham reportedly step up interest in talented Englishman

Tottenham have reportedly stepped up their interest in signing Bolton goalkeeper Jake Turner after learning that Manchester United are also interested in signing him.

The North London club are reported to have sent scouts to Bolton’s last two reserve games to watch the youngster in action.

However, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is also a fan of Turner and wants to develop him for the future. Now United are said to be in the lead to sign the youngster and Bolton will surely end up taking the highest offer.

The Red Devils have huge financial muscle while Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator who is usually hesitant to fork out large sums of money for players.

Turner could be a good coup for either side. He is highly rated and likely has the characteristics that are required to succeed at the highest level. The custodian however will probably play for the reserve teams of whichever club he ends up joining.
