Liverpool legend Michael Owen is backing the Reds to finish in the top four during the upcoming Premier League campaign.
The Reds finished the top flight in fourth position last season and qualified for the Champions League for only the second time in eight seasons.
Owen has now claimed that progress has been made at the Merseyside club since Jurgen Klopp became manager and feels that the side will be able to finish in the top four during the upcoming season.
Owen said, “Liverpool will have to go through the qualification rounds for the Champions League which adds extra matches, but JurgenKlopp has addressed this by adding both quality and quantity to the squad. A good run in Europe and another top-four finish will be seen as a good season.”
Thus far the club have recruited Dominic Solanke, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson as they prepare for the new season.
They have also been linked with moves for Virgil van Dijk and West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini should Philippe Coutinho end up leaving the club.
