Southampton is reportedly after the Italian side Lazio player Wesley Hoedt. The Daily Mail has issued an article, stating that the Saints are negotiating with the former Italian champions regarding their defender Hoedt.
The potential value of the transfer is £12 million, but the Saints have a strong competition for the excellent centre-back.
Everton is also interested in Hoedt, and they are willing to spend some of their money earned from the Romelu Lukaku transfer.
The chase for Hoedt might be a clear sign that something is happening with the status of Virgil van Dijk at Southampton and that Saints are wanting to secure themselves to find a decent replacement on time.
The 23-year-old Hoedt started his career in AZ Alkmaar, where he has spent 10 years. In 2015 he joined Lazio, and since then he has played 46 games scoring two goals.
This year he became the member of the Dutch national team and already made 4 appearances for Oranje.
