Australian club Central Coast have completed the signing of goalkeeper Tom Glover from Tottenham on a one year loan deal.
The 19-year-old Glover spent last season with the Spurs under 23 side and played 11 times. This move will allow him to gain more first team experience in his homeland of Australia.
The teenager now has a good chance of being Mariners first choice shot-stopper for the upcoming season after Paul Izzo left the club to link up with Adelaide.
Considering that Glover would have, in all probability, spent most of his time on the Spurs bench had he stayed for the duration of next season, this is a good move for both clubs.
Following the completion of the transfer, the youngster said, “It’s important to get some first-team experience and games under my belt.
“I think to go on loan now is the next step for me. Paolo is willing to give me that opportunity and I want to take that chance with both hands. “His style of play is the way I like to play – playing out from the back, using my feet.”
