Everton’s £15million target not interested in Goodison Park move

Burnley striker Andre Gray has stated that he won’t be leaving Turf Moor this summer contrary to various exit reports.

The 26-year-old English forward was strongly linked with a £15million switch to West Ham in January, while Everton have also been reported to be interested in signing him this summer.

Debunking the claims to the Lancashire Telegraph, Gray declared, “It’s part and parcel (of the game), you concentrate on where you are.

“Nothing has happened, there’s nothing to think about, I’m concentrating on Burnley and that’s what I’ll always do.”

Gray, who arrived Turf Moor in 2015 for a club-record £6million is yet to commit his future to Burnley as he enters the last year of his deal, and he reportedly wants £75,000 in weekly wages in order to put pen to paper.

Everton chief Ronald Koeman wants more offensive reinforcements ahead of next term to compliment Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez, and Gray’s experience in a 1-striker formation system hint at reasons why he could hit the ground running at Goodison Park.

Gray was a goal shy of reaching double figures in 26 Premier League starts last term, and would be a quality option off the bench for Everton, were he to be signed.

With playing time bound to be hard to come by for him with the Toffees, it is highly unlikely the Burnley man will agree to a move, though.
