Liverpool have completed the signing of defender Andrew Robertson from Hull City in a deal believed to be worth in the region of £10 million.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been a long time admirer of the Scotland international Robertson, who will now provide competition to James Milner for the first choice left-back position next season.
The 23-year-old had incessantly been linked with a move to Liverpool from Hull following the team’s relegation from the Premier League last season
Robertson has now said of his move to Anfield, “It feels a wee bit surreal just now, but obviously I’m delighted.
“There’s been a lot of speculation over the last couple of weeks, but I’m glad that the deal’s finally been done and I’m a Liverpool player.”
Robertson showed good ability for the Tigers last season and his addition will be a valuable reinforcement to Klopp’s side ahead of next season.
He is likely to start the campaign mainly on the bench and will have to fight for a regular spot in the first team.
