Ex-West Ham skipper urges the Hammers to sign these two quality international attackers

Giroud

Former West Ham captain Steve Lomas has urged the Hammers to launch a double swoop for Arsenal players Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott.

Over recent weeks, the Hammers have been losing momentum in the race to sign Giroud as it looks like he may fancy battling with new Gunners striker Alexandre Lacazette for a place in the team.

However the 30-year-old Giroud did reveal during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Australia that he does not know where he will be playing next season, which will give the East London club along with Everton, Marseille and Lyon hope that they can sign him.

The Hammers will be willing to meet Arsenal’s £20 million valuation of Giroud as they look to bolster their attack ahead of next season.

Whilst speaking about Giroud, Lomas said, “Olivier Giroud would be a fantastic signing for West Ham.”

He added about Walcott, “Walcott’s goal record from wide or up front is good. He’s got pace and he’s at a good age at 28.

“I don’t know him very well but I know him personally; he’s a very good lad. That’s very important, we need to bringing the right characters into the dressing room.”
