With one year left on his contract, the future of the box to box German midfielder Emre Can at Anfield looked uncertain at the start of the summer.
News emerged that Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri was keen to boost his midfield options before the start of new season and Liverpool’s marauding midfielder Can was on his shortlist.
However, as per the latest reports coming out, Jurgen Klopp seems determined not let the German midfielder part ways.
Although Emre Can played for only 226 minutes throughout Germany’s Confederation Cup winning campaign, he started against Chile and Cameron in the group stages.
Reds defensive frailties are no secret to anyone and there’s no doubt that bolstering the defensive options would be on top of Klopp’s priority list, at least for now.
In such circumstances, it looks highly unlikely that the Reds would want to leave a gap in their midfield by selling Can.
