Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn has said that the Gunners should consider selling striker Olivier Giroud to West Ham. The Hammers are keen to add Giroud to their squad following a disappointing season especially in front of goal where they have been lackluster.
The 30-year-old Giroud is also said to be keen to leave the Emirates Stadium should he be not assured of regular first team action as he wishes to be part of the French national team at the 2018 World Cup.
Arsene Wenger’s side have been linked with moves for Kylian Mbappe and Alexandre Lacazette and would at least one of them likely to arrive at the club this summer, it appears unlikely that Giroud will start the season as the clubs first choice striker.
Winterburn said, “I think Arsenal have stated that they would like to keep Giroud, but they might need to review the situation depending what happens in the summer.
“He might also be settled in London and if that is the case, West Ham have a good link with Arsenal and if he wanted to stay in London that could be a good opportunity for West Ham to get a very good striker.”
