Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has stated that his side’s performances in the Champions League last season disappointed him but praised his team-mates for the way in which they reacted to disappointment by putting in strong displays in the Premier League.
The North London club only won two of their matches in Europe’s Premier club competition and finished third in their group which included Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen and CSKA Moscow.
Whilst speaking about his team’s performances in the Champions League, Lloris siad, “The only disappointment was the Champions League.
“The reaction of the team was fantastic, though, and step by step, we became stronger and stronger. That means we learned from our mistakes and that’s positive.”
Spurs enjoyed an impressive season and finished second in the League. Lloris was central to the club’s successes and managed to keep 17 clean sheets from 43 appearances.
Tottenham will once again play in the Champions League next season and will be looking to progress to the deep stages of the competition this time around.
