Rangers have confirmed that Portuguese striker Dalcio has joined the club on a season long loan deal from Benfica. The 21-year-old Dalcio spent this past season mainly playing for the Benfica B team, for whom he made 33 appearances, scoring three goals.
He becomes the Gers third signing as manager Pedro Caixinha looks to rebuild the side and re-establish it as one of the major forces within Scottish football.
Whilst speaking about the move to his new club, Dalcio said, “What attracted me was the history of the club, the size of the club, and mainly, the supporters – the amazing fans the club has.
“The gaffer was a real influence on me too. I know he is really competitive and ambitious, and that was the reasons I wanted to join him.”
Dalcio is a relatively unknown player and his stats for the Benfica B team are nothing better than average. It remains to be seen though whether he will thrive under Caixinha next season.
