Legend says he would love to see 20-year-old star at Celtic next season

Former Celtic striker John Hartson has said that he would love to see his former club sign Patrick Roberts on a permanent deal.

The youngster Roberts has been on loan with the Bhoys this past season and impressed as he played a role in helping Brendan Rodger’s team win the treble.

During this past season, the 20-year-old Roberts played 37 times for Celtic, scoring 11 goals and recording 19 assists in the process.

Hartson has now stated that he would be delighted to see the youngster joining the Scottish giants on a permanent basis and revealed his sentiments via social media platform Twitter.

Roberts joined City from Fulham in 2015 for £12 million. He currently only has three appearances for the Citizens senior side.

It was initially thought that City boss Pep Guardiola was looking to bring back Roberts to the Etihad Stadium this summer to challenge for a place in the first team next season. However it now looks like City are open to selling on a permanent basis.
