Richard Foster explains how new signing Ryan Jack will boost Rangers’ side

Richard Foster believes that new Rangers signing Ryan Jack will add protection to the side’s defence, which was lacking last season.

The 31-year-old Foster, who currently plays for St. Johnstone, knows Jack personal having played with him at Pittodrie.

Foster said of his former team-mate, “He’s a good signing for Rangers. He was asked to do the defensive role in the Aberdeen team, which I think he did really well, but I think he does have more quality on the ball when needed.”

Jack is a product of the Aberdeen youth ranks and made his debut for the club in 2010, eventually becoming club captain five years later. Thus far Jack is a confirmed signing of the Gers along with veteran Portuguese Euro 2016 winning defender Bruno Alves.

After being promoted to the Scottish Premiership last season, Rangers finished in third position and are looking to re-establish themselves as a major force within Scottish football.
