Jose Manuel de la Torre has led his team to two consecutive victories, getting that win over Pachuca also getting a win over Queretaro in week 12.

The Cape Verde native has been one of the most vital players for Santos Laguna this tournament scoring five goals with two assists. Santos will have the home-field advantage in the game but it might not be enough to propel the ‘guerreros’ over a very tough opponent in Monterrey.
Monterrey has been one of the best teams this Clausura in third place with 22 points. The ‘regios’ are coming off a huge 4-1 victory in week 13 of the competition. Antonio Mohamed has counted with one of the deadliest offenses all tournament, accumulating 21 goals in 12 weeks.
A substantial portion of those goals has come from three key players in Edwin Cardona, Rogelio Funes Mori and Darlon Pabon who have collectively scored 14 goals. Monterrey is one of the few teams that seems like a lock to have a playoff spot but will have a tough task against Santos Laguna away from home.
