Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he feels Moussa Dembele is a genius and added that he feels that the Belgium international could have been one of the best players in the world if he had had the opportunity to have coached him from a younger age.
Since joining from Fulham in 2012, Dembele has delivered mixed performances. However his play has become impressive in recent times and he is likely to play a key role for Spurs in their remaining games of the current Premier League season.
Pochettino said, “I always say ‘Mousa, in my book you will be one of my genius players that I have been lucky to meet’. One was Maradona, the others Ronaldinho, Okocha and De la Pena – he was a genius too – and Mousa Dembele.”
Spurs are in second place on the Premier League and ten points adrift of current leaders Chelsea. Though catching up to the leaders will be a difficult task, the North London side will be looking to seal Champions League qualification.
