Pochettino explains Tottenham’s wild celebrations after Janssen goal

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that the Spurs team began to celebrate wildly after Vincent Janssen scored as they were excited to see the Dutch international score his first goal from open play.

Janssen netted Spurs fifth goal during their 6-0 rout of League One outfit Millwall during the weekend and has failed to impress since joining the North London club from Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar during the summer. He has bagged just five goals from 30 matches in all competitions.

Spurs fans will be hoping that the goal can give him the confidence to emulate the form that he displayed in the Dutch League.

Pochettino told the club’s website, “When a player suffers a lot, when you don’t score when you are a striker. It’s always a tough period in your career and for that reason all the team-mates were happy to see him score again”
