Harry Kane has thanked the London club which helped turn him from “a boy into a man” and it is not Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking to the London Evening standard, Kane thanked former club Millwall for the influence they have had in his career ahead of Spurs match against The Lions on Sunday.
Kane was sent on loan to Millwall during the 2011-12 season to get match experience and during his four month stay with the club, he managed to score 9 goals from 27 appearances.
While he was reflecting on his time with his former club, he told the Evening Standard, “I had a great time at Millwall. I enjoyed my loan spell there, which was a big part of my development. I was 18 at the time, playing in the Championship.
“We were in a relegation battle and it probably turned me into a man, really. I was playing in high pressure games and I managed to come out of it positively.”
