Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has agreed to terms on a new contract with the Scottish champions.
Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed the latest contract development after witnessing his side claim a 4-1 win over St Mirren in Scottish Cup.
Rodgers also confirmed that Gordon would put pen-paper on the new deal by next week. He said, “I’m led to believe that everything’s agreed. Hopefully completed next week.”
The 34-year-old was reportedly a subject of two unsuccessful bids from Premier League leaders Chelsea in the January transfer window.
The Scotland keeper has three months left on his current deal, and according to the reports, the new deal will keep him at Celtic Park until 2020.
Gordon, who was once the most expensive goalkeeper in Britain, joined the Hoops in 2014 following a two-year absence due to his knee injuries. He has been a key first-team player during his time at the club and has made 42 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season.
