Newcastle star admits he is unlikely for Chelsea return

Christian Atsu has indicated that he expects to permanently move away from Chelsea during the summer.

After signing for Chelsea in 2013, the Ghana international winger has failed to make a single League appearance for the Blues and has had numerous loan stints.

His current loan stint with the Magpies is the fifth he has undergone since joining Chelsea.  In what will be a boost to Newcastle fans, he is also keen to remain at St. James’ Park permanently.

Atsu has scored three goals for the Magpies this season from 16 Premier League games.  His displays this season have proved that he is capable of competing in the Premier League, which is where Newcastle are likely to play next season.

He said of the current situation to the Shields Gazette, “It is difficult for me and Chelsea. You can see the kind of wingers they have. I have to keep working hard. I spoke with (Chelsea manager Antonio) Conte.

“He is a good manager, very serious in his work. I need to keep fighting for Newcastle and do well here.”
