Gareth McAuley scored a stoppage time equalizer to savage a point for West Brom during their 2-2 draw against West Ham at the London Stadium.
Nacer Chadli opened the scoring in the sixth minute as he breezed past CheikhouKouyate and beat Darren Randolph.
West Ham launched a spirited comeback in the second half as SofianeFeghouli reacted to Jonathan Calleri’s effort which hit the crossbar to make the scores level.
Manuel Lanzini struck in the 86th minute to put the Hammers in the lead. Considering how late in the game Lanzini’s strike came, the West Ham faithful would have surely thought that their team would win the game.
Veteran defender McAuley however, had other ideas and nodded in Jonny Evans’ powerful header deep into stoppage time.
Slaven Bilic was left furious and had to be sent to the stands along with his assistant following the concession of the goal. The result sees West Brom retain eighth position while West Ham have dropped to tenth.
