Everton star Romelu Lukaku has praised the “hard work” of his team-mates after the Toffees claimed an impressive 6-3 win over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
The forward who has been on arguably the form of his life this season, found the net four times in the match. Though Everton in the end won by a big margin, the match was not all smooth sailing. At one time, the Bournemouth managed to bring the score to 3-2.
He said, “We started well, we did what we had to do. It’s disappointing we conceded the goals, but we showed mental resilience.
“We said we wanted to come out flying, we worked on it all week. We were sharp and we continued pressing. 3-0 at half time was good, but after half time we weren’t mentally sharp.”
Lukaku’s hat-trick was history making as it was the 300th hat-trick in Premier League history. It also marked the first time that Lukaku struck four goals in a match in his Premier League career. The other goals came from James McCarthy and Ross Barkley.
