According to reports, Everton considered making a deadline day bid for West Ham goalkeeper Adrian. The Liverpool Echo have reported that signing Adrian was a possibility for Everton after the player lost the starting position with his club.
Since the departure of Tim Howard, Everton have also struggled to find a regular consistent first choice goalkeeper and it was only recently that current first choice Joel Robles managed to persuade Ronald Koeman not to shop for a new goalkeeper at least until the summer.
Adrian was impressive last season, however this season he has not managed to emulate the form he delivered last season which has seen him fall out of favor at West Ham. The goalkeeper will certainly provide stiff competition for Robles should he arrive during the summer.
Considering Maarten Stekelenberg is 34-years-old and may be past his prime, Everton may also be looking for a younger goalkeeper.
