Despite rumored interest from sides in the Premier League, Aston Villa have managed to pull off quite a coup with the signing of highly-rated striker Scott Hogan. Hogan moves over from Brentford, whom he had scored 14 times for, for a price of £9m.
Hogan had been linked with Slaven Bilic’s West Ham throughout January, but Villa have ultimately gotten the man to put pen to paper. Speaking to the club’s website, Hogan said “I’m delighted to be at club like Aston Villa with its history and tradition.”
Hogan can become a real hero for Villa going forward if he can be the striker to lead them back to the promised land of the Barclay’s Premier League. Villa are currently 10 points back of the final promotion playoff spot, so they have their cut out for them.

But they have a side that is more complete and ready, so Hogan will be hoping to become the final piece to the puzzle for them. How Hogan does is going to be a question of whether or not Villa can provide for him. They should certainly be able to do so after spending so much money in this window!
