Celtic Player Says Teammate is Reason He Will Stay

According to the Daily Record in Scotland, Dedryck Boyata has Kolo Toure to thank for staying at Celtic.  Boyata was seemingly at the end of his time in Glasgow, but he ended up scoring the winner on Wednesday against St. Johnstone which saw the club tie the Lisbon Lions for most matches without a loss in Scottish football.

That goal would have never come, though, without the help of mentor Kolo Toure.

Boyata said that Toure “is the kind of person… to remind you it is not finished.”  This sort of thing is exactly what Brendan Rodgers brought Toure to the club for: mentorship.

Boyata, despite still being unsure of his future, has stated that he has had a great week and will stay and fight for his chance at center back.  What looked to have been sure-fire departure is now looking like a teachable moment, thanks to man-manager Kolo Toure!
