Report: Tottenham agree a deal for defender with Italian side

Roma are set to sign Frederico Fazio from Tottenham on a permanent basis, according to Italian outlet Gazetta Dello Sport. Since arriving on a season long loan last summer, Fazio has now made the required number of appearances for Roma to pay the £2.8 million to keep him permanently.

The Argentinian has established himself as a regular at Roma playing in 25 of Roma’s 30 League and Cup encounters. According to reports, Roma are keen on signing him on a permanent deal.

Roma believed the deal to secure Fazio is a bargain. They played just £1 million to secure him on a loan deal and will have to pay £2.8 million as a transfer fee which means they will have him for just £3.8 million.

After joining from Sevilla in 2014, Fazio failed to adapt to football in the English Premiership, making 32 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham during which he failed to establish himself at the club.
