Report: Everton and Liverpool among the clubs interested in £20million-rated teenager

Anfield

Everton and Liverpool are said to face a battle during this month to sign Genk winger Leon Bailey, according to the Daily Mail. The 19-year-old was expected to leave Belgium at the end of the season however Roma and Bayer Leverkusen have hinted that they will make bids this month.

Chelsea and Bournemouth are other clubs said to be keeping their eyes on the player. Genk are said to be keen to hold onto their prized asset, however if a good offer comes along, there is a high possibility that they may be tempted to sell.

The likely scenario is that a deal will be negotiated now which will see Bailey leave at the end of the season. A bidding war between the clubs is set to take place with the player being valued at around £20 million.

Bailey is viewed as another wonderkid produced by the Genk’s renowned youth academy and follows in the footsteps of Thibaut Courtois, Kevin De Bruyne, Christian Benteke and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco.
