West Ham United have officially signed 18 year old Nathan Holland to a deal after reaching an agreement with Everton for his services. Holland, an England under-19 international, has called the move “amazing” after he’s been unable to break into the Toffees’ senior side.
The deal is for three and a half years, according to the West Ham United official website, and the versatile youngster is hoping to break into the Hammers first team side. For now, though, he’ll be suiting up in the Premier League 2 against Leicester tonight, in fact!

This deal is an interesting one because we’ve all seen Ronald Koeman’s love for young players. Not to slight Holland or West Ham here, but if Koeman isn’t interested, there is probably a good reason for it. Holland would never have made the cut under Koeman, and that’s saying something.
Maybe Holland will make the grade at West Ham, but it’s tough to tell. There’s something about him that doesn’t add up. Maybe he just didn’t have the style of play for Koeman. Either way, he’s gone now and we’ll see what becomes of his career at West Ham United.
