According to Portuguese outlet Record (as reported by Sport Witness in English), Premier League giants Arsenal are currently in negotiations with Benfica over the signing of Gonçalo Guedes.
Arsenal have been touted to make a move for a host of names during the January transfer window and although manager Arsene Wenger has already insisted that he is not looking to bring in anyone to the club before the end of the month, this has not stopped the Gunners being linked with a host of names.
Now in bold claims from Portuguese outlet Record, Arsenal are currently in negotiations with Benfica over the signing of wonderkid Gonçalo Guedes.
Guedes enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for Benfica last season and has really taken his game to the next level during the current campaign, scoring 7 goals as well as providing 7 assists in 28 appearances in all competitions so far.
As a result of such fine performances, Guedes has attracted the interest of a host of clubs and now reports state that Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira is currently in London alongside agent Jorge Mendes to negotiate the sale of the 20-year-old (who has a £51.8 million release clause) to Arsenal.
