Championship side Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Barnsley skipper Conor Hourihane.
Sky Sports claims that Villa manager Steve Bruce is a fan of the 25-year-old midfielder and is contemplating a move for him this month.
Hourihane only has six months on his contract with the Tykes and is expected to cost in the region of £1m.
That’s quite cheap for a player who has been in tremendous form this season and has attracted interests from a number of clubs in the second tier of the Championship.
The Irish midfielder has scored five goals and provided 11 assists in 24 league appearances this season and has been one of the major factors behind the Tykes’ lofty position in the league.
Hourihane, a product of Sunderland academy, signed for Barnsley in a £250,000 deal from League Two side Plymouth Argyle in 2014. He was also named Championship Player of the Month for August 2016.
