Manchester United express strong interest in 21-year-old who is available for £51million

Premier League giants Manchester United are interested in signing Portuguese sensation Andre Silva, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.

Manchester United are clearly struggling at the moment and manager Jose Mourinho will perhaps have to dip into the transfer market in order to turn his side’s fortunes around.

A number of players have understandably been linked with a move to United in recent times and it is believed that the Red Devils will be looking to strengthen their attacking lineup in January, especially with Memphis Depay most likely to be leaving.

Now according to reports from the Daily Mirror, revelations can be made that United are currently eyeing up a swoop for Porto wonderkid Andre Silva.

Silva broke into the Porto first team last season and he has since managed to go from strength-to-strength and is currently the main striker for the Portuguese giants.

Silva wanted by United

The 21-year-old has managed an impressive 10 goals in 17 appearances in all competitions so far and has also starred for the Portuguese national team, scoring 4 goals in just 5 caps.

It is clear to see that Silva has a big future in the game and as a result, a host of top clubs across Europe are reportedly keeping tabs on the young attacker.

Among the teams interested, Manchester United have recently been touted as the side who are ready to make a concrete move for Silva and Mourinho is said to be hopeful of brokering a deal due to his close affiliation with Porto.

Silva signed a new contract with Porto back in August earlier this year, which includes a £51 million release clause and considering Manchester United’s heavy spending in recent times, the Red Devils are more than capable of activating the clause to land the youngster this winter.
