Manchester United are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen full-back Benjamin Henrichs, according to German newspaper Sport Bild.
The report claims the 19-year-old has caught the attention of the Red Devils with his impressive performances since the start of the season, but Jose Mourinho’s team faces competition from Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona.
Henrichs, who can play on either side of the defense or in midfield, is enjoying a spectacular season for the German giants and has already made 14 appearances in all competitions, providing 2 assists.
The talented teenager has made the right-back position in Roger Schmidt’s team his own and has even been called up for Germany’s games against San Marino and Italy this month.
The Cologne-born player is a product of Bayer Leverkusen’s youth academy.
Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign a new right-back in January and Henrichs could be an option for the Red Devils, even though Bayer Leverkusen are unlikely to let the player leave in the middle of the season.
Jose Mourinho’s team would have a much bigger chance of signing the player next summer, as Leverkusen would have much more time and options to replace him.
