Speaking to Sky Sports, former Arsenal winger Paul Merson has gone on to state that Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is a better player than Paul Pogba at the moment.
There was a lot of hype surrounding the arrival of Paul Pogba to Manchester United this summer and understandably so.
Pogba is considered as one of the best midfielders in world football at the moment and given the fact that United decided to splash as much as £89 million for the French international, there was bound to be a lot of interest regarding the record breaking move.
However, Pogba has not enjoyed the best of starts to life upon his return to Manchester United and many have gone on to criticize the 23-year-old for not putting in performances which merits the huge transfer fee.
Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has also not been left too impressed with Pogba and ahead of United’s blockbuster encounter against Liverpool at Anfield, the Sky Sports pundit has gone on to state his belief that Jordan Henderson is currently a better player than the ex-Juventus superstar.
When asked whom he would choose between Henderson and Pogba, Merson told Sky Sports, “Today, Jordan Henderson. Over the next 10 years, I don’t know – it probably should be Pogba considering how much money they spent.
“Henderson has been as good as anybody in the Premier League. Credit where credit is due, he’s been outstanding. Pogba has been struggling.”
