Saint-Etienne defender Florentin Pogba, whose brother, Paul, plays for Manchester United, has expressed his desire of playing for Arsenal.
In an interview with French television Telefoot, the 26-year-old has said he loves the English giants and has dreamt of playing for them ever since he was a child.
“This is the dream I had since I was a kid,” he told Telefoot. “I had a few opportunities during the last transfer window but it did not materialise.
“I am waiting, I am patient and I want to continue my good performances with my club that would allow me to go. I love Arsenal.”
Pogba, who can play at centre-back or left-back, is contracted with Les Verts until the summer of 2018 and if he doesn’t renew his contract by the end of the year, the interested clubs could be able to sign him for a cut-price fee in the next couple of transfer windows.
The versatile defender has made 9 appearances in all competitions for Saint-Etienne so far and is a key part of Christophe Galtier’s plans.
Whether or not Arsenal are interested in signing Pogba is an entirely different matter, but the defender would be a good fit for the Premier League as he’s an athletic, physically imposing player.
