Sources from TransferMarketWeb (via Daily Star) claim that Chelsea are preparing to bid £40 million for their ex-striker Romelu Lukaku. The 23-year-old Belgian left Chelsea for Everton two seasons back and has now become one of the most talented and renowned name in the world of football.
Lukaku was sold by Chelsea to Everton two seasons ago after a disappointing year at the Stanford Bridge. Since then, he hasn’t failed to make a mark in either of the seasons which he has spent at Goodison Park.
Earlier in the 2nd quarter of the year, Lukaku sparked a possibility of his Chelsea return by claiming that he has some unfinished business at the Stamford Bridge. Conte is possibly chasing Lukaku’s signatures behind the curtains, as the limelight remains over their chase of Alvaro Morata.
There is no way Conte is settling with only 2 strikers before the transfer window closes. But, the strikers on whom Conte has set his eyes on would cost him more than £62.7 million and £75 million, with the latter price set, or slapped, on Lukaku by Everton.
