Report: Real Madrid youngster to be loaned to Bundesliga

Bernabeu

According to Marca, a Spanish sports newspaper, Borja Mayoral is on his way to VfL Wolfsburg on a one-year loan deal. He played six games with the first team this past season.

Considered one of the most promising Real Madrid Castilla players, this comes as a win-win for both the club and Borja. He’ll play in a top competitive league and could follow Carvajal’s example.

Dani was loaned to Bayer Leverkusen and became a standout performer, forcing Los Blancos to bring him back. He’s now established himself as the starting right back.

At 19 years old, Mayoral is still growing and the Bernabéu can’t give him the playing time he needs.

On top of that, the failed Liga Adelante promotion would retain him in a less challenging competition.

While an official announcement must be made, it seems like the deal had good odds of being completed. This means Zidane has to  rethink if letting Jesé leave is right.
