Report: Liverpool Midfielder Set for likely Exit after Euro 2016

Anfield

According to reports from the Telegraph, Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen is set to rejoin Welsh club Swansea for £10m after Euro 2016.

Allen is currently on International duty with Wales where he has become a linchpin for the Chris Coleman squad.

Allen made 19 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League last season.

Despite his on-field performances, Jurgen Klopp didn’t rate the midfielder high in his plans. Out of the 19 appearances that he made for Liverpool, 11 came from the bench.

As a result, rumors were abound linking the midfielder away from Liverpool in this transfer window. And if recent reports are believed to be true, the 26-year-old is eager to rejoin his former side Swansea.

In addition to the lack of faith from the manager, it is the competition for places at Liverpool which might force Allen out of Liverpool.

With the likes of Lucas Leiva and Emre Can above him in the pecking order, game time might not be unlimited for Allen in the 2016/17 season.

However, while Liverpool might be happy to get £10m for the Welshman, the Liverpool faithful might not be too happy with this decision of the club.

Allen was one of the star performers for Liverpool last season and his popularity skyrocketed in the last few months.

As a result, if Liverpool are to get their hands of Allen, the Reds should line up a marquee signing in order to soothe the resulting anger of the Liverpool fans.
