Chelsea claimed a credible 1-1 draw away to Liverpool in midweek and the Blues look certain to finish the campaign in the top half of the table, which can be seen as a bit of an achievement.

Now Chelsea will want to close out what has been a terrible campaign by claiming a positive result in the final game of the season at Stamford Bridge but with champions Leicester City set to visit, it will be anything but easy.

With former manager Claudio Ranieri returning, the Italian will surely be given a warm welcome by the Stamford Bridge faithful but this does not mean that Chelsea will be too hospitable on the pitch and the match is expected to be a closely fought encounter.

Here is the strongest possible Chelsea lineup for the clash against Leicester City –

Goalkeeper

Thibaut Courtois missed the clash against Liverpool in midweek due to injury but the Belgian international is expected to be returning back to goal on Sunday, meaning that Asmir Begovic will drop back down to the bench.

Defence

John Terry remains unavailable due to suspension while Branislav Ivanovic is an injury doubt and as a result, the backline consisting of Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta, Abdul Baba Rahman and John Obi Mikel are expected to continue in the lineup.

Midfield

Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas look likely to start at the middle of the part once again while the in-form Eden Hazard is set to feature in the hole behind the lone striker.

Pedro will be occupying a role out on the left wing but with Willian an injury doubt, Kenedy could be handed a start on the day. If required, Oscar could also feature after missing out of the squad during the last encounter against Liverpool.

Attack

Diego Costa remains out injured which means that Bertrand Traore looks set to be starting once again. Alexandre Pato will be on the bench while fans will be excited to see if young Tammy Abraham makes an appearance on the day.
