Chelsea’s draw at Anfield saw the performance of Eden Hazard, whom the side has missed most of the season. Guus Hiddink feels impressed with the way Eden Hazard has handled pressure and intense criticism this season. Hiddink believes that Hazard’s previous performances were affected due to the injuries and his failure to be fit.
“He has had a difficult year. He has had injuries, come back, had more injuries, and that made him vulnerable physically,” revealed Hiddink. As Hiddink said before that, according to him, what led to Hazard’s downfall was the fact that he was never given enough time to recover from injuries and was asked to perform on the pitch.
Hiddink said that key to Hazard’s amazing performances in recent fixtures has been the time which he has been allowed to recover under him.
Hiddink mentioned how he does not force Hazard to play for the full 90 minutes and rather, he keeps his appearances short, which makes him able to perform and create an impact for the team.
