Good news for Tottenham fans from the training ground as striker Clinton N’Jie looks to be almost ready to return to the first team.
The Cameroonian international has been sidelined for over three months after he had surgery on his MCL back in December. He was signed from Ligue 1 side Lyon last season.
His recent status, according to Tottenham’s official Twitter account, was that N’Jie was able to participate in the first part of Tottenham two part training.

The return of N’Jie is great news as it will finally give manager Mauricio Pochettino a legitimate forward to sub on for Harry Kane. Kane will no doubt be the starter, but there were moments where Tottenham could have really used N’Jie. There were matches where Kane looked fatigued and should have been replaced instead of playing the whole 90 minutes.
Nacer Chadli usually started at striker when Kane needed a rest. Although the Belgian started 2016 in fine form, he’s cooled off as of late.
N’Jie has proved to be a good striker having scored seven goals for Lyon last season, but it will take him some time to come back from missing a long period of time. He’s very pacy and subbing him on late and letting him run at opposing defences will be a great change of pace for Tottenham.
Tottenham’s next match is against Manchester United on April 10th.
